Unlike liquid web content that automatically adapts to a visitor’s browser width, the elastic layout adjusts depending on the browser’s text size setting.  Relative to the size of the text, the elastic layout retains it’s form even if you resize your browser window.  It is a good layout choice for page contents that you don’t want to automatically resize according to the browser width.

A sample elastic page at default normal font size is below:

A liquid design on the other hand will produce a squeezed layout if you shorten the width of the browser:

We have shown you how to install Joolma and how to customize Joomla templates.  Now I will show you how to actually add content to a Joomla page. Adding content or articles on a web-based CMS like Joomla is all done online.  To be able to post articles, you will need to login to the user account that is allowed to post articles.

Joomla is a popular web-based content management solution (CMS).  As a CMS, it lets you manage your sites’ contents like documents, pictures, HTML and other web documents.  This free web application could be used as your corporate or community website, complete with a secured login/logout for users, administration and of course content editing and management.

Joomla requires a PHP webserver and MySQL like the one packaged in XAMPP.  We have written about XAMPP and SQLyog to guide you with the installation of the required software.  The steps below will guide you with installing Joomla.

Google Sites allows you have your own content available on the web.  Unlike blogs, Google Sites work like MS Sharepoint wherein you can control who can and cannot edit the contents of your site.

With this website creation tool you don’t have to install anything to write your own page – you can do them online anywhere as long as you are online.  Small offices who want to have their own Web space will also benefit since this is a good way to have a website with the least cost of ownership.
