Margaret “Maggie” Marystone is a writer, technology enthusiast, human rights worker, politico, and cat lover. Currently working for a global human rights organization, Maggie previously spent a decade as adviser to one of the longest-serving members of the Chicago City Council and served as director of the council’s Committee on Human Relations.
After stints at law firms and quasi-government agencies, Maggie went freelance, providing design services to candidates for public office, nonprofit organizations, and entertainment acts like Mumford and Sons and Zac Brown Band. She also mentored participants in the AmeriCorps program Public Allies.
Maggie’s professional writing experience includes tech guides for MakeUseOf.com, blogging about the renovation of her abandoned house, and writing dozens of license applications for medical and recreational cannabis dispensaries and cultivation centers for clients throughout Illinois.
