I do not have the advanced tab in windows 98 SE…this error report takes me out of programs and I can’t find any way to disable it…any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Thanks. That was helpful. I went to the Windows site first to try to find a fix for the problem, but nothing seemed to work, so this at least will help me keep my sanity!

Hi Brant,

Yes I’d agree that you should really only disable this feature if you’re getting the error reporting dialog all the time and have already submitted it to Microsoft several times. Then you need to figure out whether it’s a software or hardware incompatibility issue.

Telling how to disable a feature like this is fine as long as done from a balanced perspective. The author does not communicate that Microsoft is less likely to notice the impact of your crash and get information necessary to fix it without the information that this crash reporting sends.
