i cannot edit my firewall settings even if I’m logged on as administrator. when i go to firewall setting, my pc firewall is auto-enabled, which i need to turn off but even though i have logged on as administrator, it doesnot allow any changes. since its faded and the option doesn’t change…

Thanks! it helps me a lot… but can you give more tips of disabling some Windows xp tools such as display properties, Control Panel, USB ports, and alike… it could be a great help for me if u could teach me how to do this.

You can also disable a lot of these Windows features and settings in Group Policy. Just go to Start, Run and type in gpedit.msc. You can disable all kinds of features in Windows, Internet Explorer, etc.

hi there!
before anything else, may i send my congratulations with such a very helpful site. kudos!

i’m just starting on an internet cafe and I’d like to know how to disable (and enable back if i have to) the right-click usage of the mouse.
also, how do i protect programs installed in my pc so that users will not be able to alter them.
i use “restore” in every unit before closing up the cafe to disregard whatever alteration/s any user may have done with my units.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the MacBook Pro does not include a hardware wireless switch (not surprising, as it’s not intended for primary use as a Windows machine, and in Mac OS X turning off the radio is not an administrator-restricted action).

Is there a registry or permission setting that will allow a specific user to toggle the wireless card in software?
