Hi i have a big problem. My task manager and regedit is always disabling even if i enable them after a few moments it disables again. How could i fix it? please help if you know. I even tried reinstalling windows. thanks

How do you enable task manager and or regedit prompt. Somw how my mothers pc got a virius or trogan horse and I cannot change the desktop back ground, open task manager, or regedit prompt? Can you help?

hi there!
before anything else, may i send my congratulations with such a very helpful site. kudos!

i’m just starting on an internet cafe and I’d like to know how to disable (and enable back if i have to) the right-click usage of the mouse.
also, how do i protect programs installed in my pc so that users will not be able to alter them.
i use “restore” in every unit before closing up the cafe to disregard whatever alteration/s any user may have done with my units.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the MacBook Pro does not include a hardware wireless switch (not surprising, as it’s not intended for primary use as a Windows machine, and in Mac OS X turning off the radio is not an administrator-restricted action).

Is there a registry or permission setting that will allow a specific user to toggle the wireless card in software?

Mike, sorry for the late reply! You can disable your wireless interface on a laptop by toggling the on/off switch. It’s not on all laptops, but most of the new ones have it. As for the LAN network connection, you have to disable it via the software.

Anand, try changing the drive letter to something else and see if it works.

I’d love to have our users disable their wireless connections as above, but as far as I know you have to be an administrator on the local machine (and they aren’t). Is there a settable key that allows all users permission to disable network interfaces?
