I NEED the old XP paint for what I Do.
The windows 7 paint is CRAP. They killed features, added always on aliasing etc.
The Vista Paint was GREAT ! It had multiple levels of zoom but besides that felt like XP paint.
Can I PLEASE just get a version of Windows Vista Paint for my new windows 7 machine. If you can do this I will use 7 more, and get another Win 7 machine or two (I have several businesses) if not I will stick to XP and/or buy a(nother) Mac.

Hello again guys.
sorry but to me this is a problem of the past.

Switched to Paint.NET (www.getpaint.net)

Took some reasonable time to learn and adapt.
Once done i see the same that Paint used to do, plus a lot more, while still being simple.

My only concern is about the future availability of Paint.NET, but so far seems to have been around for years and years, and teh day it becomes unsupported, will go with the commercial equivalent (there are several, will select one when that day comes)

THANKS Microsoft for having made Paint different and worse and not backward-compatible, this opened my eyes and revealed a whole new world to me.

If there are so many complains, WHY HAVEN’T MICROSOFT DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT???? I MEAN SERIOUSLY, THE NEW VERSION BASICALLY HAD ME ON THE VERGE OF TEARS BECAUSE OF FRUSTRATION DX

I cant do any sort of pixel art on this shit what so ever! I learned how to sprite along time ago when I used my family’s old home computer, but then I got a Windows 7 laptop, and was utterly blown away by the changes. I have been trying to re-learn all of the things I previously knew about pixel art, but Its basically USELESS, I cant figure it out, I cant find any tutorials on how to work this DAMN THING, AND I CANT GET THE OLD ONE BACK!

F**k microsoft.

I am an artist. I like to draw my rough drafts on paper or in grey first, then line them properly using black, then changing the attributes to black and white, therefor deleting the original grey lines and leaving me with the smooth, finishing product. Since the attributes options have been taken away, lining my images has proven to be a nightmare! I’ve tried replacing my files with the old paint, but I was unsuccessful, and i’ve spent hour searching for a way to do this in the new paint, and failed. Please Microsoft, we need the original toolbars back.

one thing that no one has mentioned yet.

there is no INVERT option…. makes it difficult to do a lot of things, like nerfing the black logo with white text to white with black.. especially annoying for anyone doing projector / print stuff all the time…. so i actually have to open my other paint program.

Paint Sucks!! Windows 7 sucks even more !!!!
Just like other features of Windows 7, Microsoft thought that it could decide what is better for it’s users, with years of training going to hell. I am migrating to Linux just because of such irratatible feature.

I miss the old Paint too. I am a big anime fan and I would usually use paint to make ocs and what not but now I can’t because the line tool is too hard to use and my pics turn out looking terrible. It also takes up too much of my time trying to look for the things I need when the old Paint was much easier to use.

Please bring the old Paint back.

I think the old Windows Vista paint was SO much better. So, yeah, there are all these new fancy brushes and transparency, but all the lines come out shaky, and it ALSO fuzzes (I couldn’t find a better word) the lines as well. As a pixel artist I grew to like the Windows Vista MS paint, mainly because I have been using it for 10 years. I just replaced my computer for a Windows 7 computer and I am deeply regretting it. I used to love drawing, and was going to try at animation, but I can’t do that now thanks to your FUZZY and SHAKY lines. You have ruined me and almost all the other pixel artists who bought this… thing.

Hate it. There are no hard brushes so I can’t do my art… It has a nice format and its pretty and everything, but it’s just not convenient. Searching for Vista’s MS Paint now.

i hate it! its very difficult to get very basic tasks done! one example is the 2 different colors one for each “click” in previous programs if i wanted to change the color on my right click from red to green all i had to do was point my pointer on green and right click! now i have to hover all the way up, select the 2nd color than go and change it! it doesnt sound like a big deal but its just very annoying! nd i hate how the everything is complicated TOOOO much! is there a way to chage it back!?
