Twitter Mania - Tools for Twits!

If you’ve turned into a Twit like many people have, it’s time for some more Twitter mania! Here’s a couple of cool Twitter tools you can use to make your Twittying (I love how everyone is coming up with all kinds of ridiculous variations of this) even better!

1. Twadget - Sounds like the word Twitter and Gadget joined together? Well it is! This is a Sidebar gadget for Windows Vista that’s slowly being updated by the developer, but seems to be working well that people are giving it a thumbs up! There might be better ones later, comment if you find any!

Update: Actually, I found another one - Twitteroo. Looks pretty nice too. Both of these let you send Twitter updates from your desktop.

2. TwitThis - Another Twitter tool that basically joins together Digg and Twitter to create social bookmarking! You can bookmark things you like and then share those with other Twitter users in real-time. The service uses TinyURL, which is a service that shortens those lengthy URL’s to fit the 140 character limit.3. Twessenger - This is a Twitter add-in for Windows Messenger 8.1 that lets you update your Messenger personal message to reflect your latest Twitter tweet. So basically, since you can update Twitter from anywhere using SMS, web or email, your Windows Messenger will also be updated at all times!

4. Twitter Search Plugin for Firefox - This one is pretty cool if you’re a FireFox user. You can post your tweets to Twitter directly from FireFox by installing this search plug-in. It’s a plug-in, not a extension, so it only takes about 10 seconds to install and you’re set to tweet! Just remember to switch your search back to normal otherwise your search for porn will show up as a tweet and that won’t look very sweet!

5. twittermap - This is of course the mashup of Twitter and Google Maps! Great way to see what’s going on in an area and seeing what people are up to! Going out to the south side, but found a flock of girls about to party up north….well it might be time to be heading north baby!

6. TwitterBuzz - This is a good Twitter tool to see what everyone else is linking to in their tweets. It is updated constantly and you can see the most popular links over the last day or over a longer period! Good way to know what’s popular!
