There’s been a good deal of buzz lately about Pidgin Software, and rightly so. Pidgin is the latest trend in instant messaging software that lets you use all of your different IM programs at the same time.
Do you have multiple IM accounts? Enjoy chatting with your buddies all day long? Want your IMing to be easier and more convenient? Then, my friend, Pidgin is for you.

Gone are the days of hopping back and forth between AIM, Yahoo! Messenger, MSN Messenger, MySpaceIM, Jabber, Gadu-Gadu, and whatever other IM protocols you have cluttering up your screen. Pidgin eliminates all of that confusion with one easy installation. And Pidgin doesn’t even make you import your Buddy List. Once you set up all of your IM accounts with Pidgin, it automatically brings in your buddies. In no time, Pidgin will have you IMing all of your online pals at once.

Besides its ease of installation and simplicity, Pidgin still allows you to use the features from other networks you are used to – file transfer, away messages, typing notification. Pidgin also has your favorite tools like autoaccept and autoreply, and they function across all of the IM protocols you are using.
One of Pidgin’s most popular tools is the Buddy Pounce, with which you can keep track of all of your buddies, no matter what IM program they are on. For example, you can set Pidgin to automatically say “Hey” to – or pounce on – your best buddy as soon as they log in, return from idle or send you a message. There are several different actions to choose from.
Pidgin lets you set notification alerts and gives you the freedom to choose how Pidgin will let you know what your buddies are up to. You can even tell Pidgin to execute a command when a certain buddy does a certain thing. There are plenty of options, and all are handy and convenient.

One of Pidgin’s most impressive features is its list of cool plugins. The Buddy Ticker is fun and neat. So is Psychic Mode. How cool is it to have the conversation window open before you even see your buddy’s message? And there’s more: extended message notification, text replacement, tabbed conversations and a spell checker, which despite its lack of use during IM sessions, can be installed in 22 langu
ages.
Pidgin Software fits with a variety of operating platforms, including Windows, Linux and BSD. Best of all, Pidgin is absolutely free! Yes. You read that right. You can download the Pidgin Software free from their Web site.
Convinced yet? Just download Pidgin already – everybody else is. The software itself is its best advertisement. Once you use it, you will wonder how you managed without it. And truly, you can’t beat that birdie logo.
