Jailbreak iPhone the Easy Way

It is no secret that iPhones are expensive. One feature that makes iPhones even more expensive, especially on eBay, is when the phone is Jailbroken.
Jailbreaking an iPhone allows you to not only use the phone on any wireless service, including T-Mobile and Sprint, it also allows you to download a wealth of apps not found in the iTunes app store—some of which offer valuable features, such as the ability to turn your iPhone into a mobile, WiFi hotspot.
So, is it worth the money to buy a jailbroken iPhone? Yes, and no. Yes, the features are worth the cost…but no, you do not need to buy an iPhone that is pre-jailbroken. Instead, a two minute download and installation process is all you need.
The program that can nearly instantly jailbreak an iPhone is called BlackRa1n. It is completely free, funded only through donations from happy customers.
First, go to BlackRa1n.com and click the icon for your operating system. There are versions for both Windows and Mac.
The program instantly downloads to the location of your choice. It then appears on your computer as a big, black raindrop. Double-click the raindrop and the program will run. A window appears with a button that says Make it Rain.
Plug your iPhone into your computer. If iTunes opens, close it. Once your iPhone is connected, click the Make it Rain button. Your iPhone will then go into recovery mode, and a screen will appear on the phone showing the USB plug and the iTunes icon. This just shows the phone is in recovery mode. The screen then goes black—this is ok.
When Blackra1n is finished jailbreaking your iPhone, a message will appear telling you the process was successful and your phone is rebooting. The Apple symbol will appear on the phone’s screen, signifying the phone is restarting.
Now, if you scroll through your apps, you should see the black raindrop at the end of your app list. If you click it, you will be able to download Rock Your Phone and other third-party apps.
BlackRa1n will work on all iPhones, including 3G and 3GS, so long as the firmware has not been upgraded to 3.1.3. You can check this by clicking settings>general>about on your iPhone and verifying the firmware version listed there.
According to BlackRa1n’s developer blog, if you upgrade to 3.1.3 at a later date, it will delete the program. A fix for this glitch is in the works.

Congrats! Your tips are superb. Please advise on how to jailbreak other smartphones like Pocket PC
I think you need to correct your article, there is no way to use the iphone on sprint network even if its unlocked.
I also did a little investigating and found that this wouldn’t work on Sprint or Verizon.. I love this website that’s why I want to help make sure these articles are accurate. So can someone prove this write or wrong? Thanks!

This actually is not true anymore, what you need is access to a sim card writer and a blank or old GTE or Verizon sim card,(TMobile does not work)…Plug one cable into the phone to read the phone and carrier settings and the other into a PC. Then insert the Sim Card for writing into the ReaderWriter. The entire process takes about ten minutes so be patient as the as the card has to be erased formatted and the phone has to be read. Once completed, place the card into a jailbroken iPhone and Voila. Easily done. I am in Houston, and have done over a thousand units at $150.00 a pop. Business is very good. All features work including tethering, Blackra1n, Cydia, Rock and all apps that Apple refused. According to all of my customers, they have been able to use their iPhones as hotpots as well, (Tethering) downloading upwards of 25gb a month with no additonal charges to their plans. If you are interested. We can make it work for you too.
Looks like pretty soon iPhone will come out on Verizon as well.
HI,
My company is switching their corporate plan to Sprint. I am still confused, can I jailbreak/unlock my iphone and use it on Sprint now? I do not have access to a sim card writer mentioned above. Am I SOL? Should I just wait and hope that the new 4G Iphone will be released for Sprint? If not, I really want to be able to use my phone on Sprint, since my company pays for it and will save me alot of $ if I have to open my own individual ATT account just to use for the iphone. Kind of dumb when my company will pick up the tab, but it has to be Sprint.
You mention you are in Houston, I will be down there in the next few weeks, I would be VERY willing to pay $150 if you can get my iphone to work on Sprint, please let me know. Thanks!!
