The HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 is the latest incarnation of HP’s all-in-one printer, scanner, copier, and fax machine. With an original price of $499, it’s close to the cost of a lower-end color laser printer.

However, they have recently reduced the price to $369 using an instant savings of $130. You can check the latest price here. You can also get it on Amazon.com for a lower $269.

Find and remove spyware using Spybot

Posted on August 2, 2009 at 5:26 am

Spybot is a free anti spyware utility from http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html. The program scans, cleans, and protects your computer from spyware attacks.  If your computer is staggering under the weight of too much spyware – this might be the one of the best free solutions around.

Other spyware removal programs I have mentioned in the past include Spyware Terminator, SUPERAntiSpyware, Hijack This, and Ad-Aware. All of these programs are very good for protecting your computer from spyware.

How to reset or restore your iPhone and iPod

Posted on August 1, 2009 at 5:24 am

If you’re one of the few that have jailbroken their iPhones or iPods and now want to go back to the original legal version of the Apple OS, then you can perform what is called a Restore.

Restoring your iPhone or iPod will erase everything on the device, including all music, videos, and apps. Before you perform a restore, make sure you backup your iPhone or iPod.

How to restore iPhone or iPod

Step 1: First connect your iPod or iPhone to your computer until it appears in the Source or Device panel in iTunes.

How to restore Windows XP to factory settings

Posted on July 31, 2009 at 5:18 am

Oddly enough, I’ve been asked by many people recently how they can restore their computers to “factory settings”. Depending on how you look at it, factory settings can mean several things.

For me, factory settings means getting the computer back to the state when you first bought it. This includes the OS with all the third-party software they like to install with it.

How to arrange icons on the iPhone 3G/3GS

Posted on July 30, 2009 at 5:53 am

So I just bought an iPhone 3GS about a week ago and I love the thing! Of course, I’ve already downloaded a bunch of apps and one of the first things I learned was how to arrange the icons.

I personally didn’t like the default layout of icons, such as Calendar, Clock, YouTube, etc eating up real estate on my main screen. So I ended up moving all those to another screen and kept my more useful apps on the front screen.

Backup settings for all your browsers using FavBackup

Posted on July 29, 2009 at 5:56 am

If you’re like me, you may have 5 browsers installed on your system! Currently, I have Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Opera! And in each browser, I have different settings, different bookmarks, different add-ons, etc, etc.

Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a program that could backup all of your browsers and all of their settings at once!?

FavBackup is a nifty little tool that provides a simple solution for backing up and restoring browser settings for several different browsers.
