Removing picture backgrounds for an image has always been a challenging task for casual users. Traditionally we need a good picture editing software like Photoshop and use its magnetic Lasso tool to select the portion of the image that we want to retain. In the technical preview of the incoming MS Office 2010, there is built-in capability to remove the background of an image so that the subject of the portrait will be the only thing remaining. First open your favorite Office application like word or PowerPoint. In PowerPoint or Word you can use the Insert menu to insert a picture to your document. Ouvrez d'abord votre application Office comme Word ou PowerPoint. Dans PowerPoint ou Word, vous pouvez utiliser le menu Insérer pour insérer une image à votre document.
Click the image inside the document to select it. Cliquez sur l'image à l'intérieur du document pour le sélectionner.
Click the Picture Tools button on the top right part of the window. Cliquez sur le bouton Outils de photos sur la partie supérieure droite de la fenêtre.
Click the background removal button: Cliquez sur le bouton de suppression de fond:
Wait for a few seconds. The picture will appear with the background highlighted with a saturated color. Attendez quelques secondes. L'image s'affichera avec le fond mis en évidence par une couleur saturée.
Click anything outside the picture. Cliquez sur quoi que ce soit en dehors de l'image. The image is now without a background! L'image est désormais sans fond!
The feature is not that perfect, the end result came out with some parts of the penguins omitted (maybe considered as part of the background image by the program). Cette fonctionnalité n'est pas parfaite, le résultat final est sorti avec quelques parties de l'pingouins omis (peut-être considérée comme faisant partie de l'image de fond par le programme).
It wasn't able to distinguish the back of the neck of the penguin on the left from the background clouds. Il n'a pas été en mesure de distinguer la nuque du pingouin sur la gauche de l'arrière-plan de nuages.
This new capability from Office 2010 is great for quick and dirty background removal tasks. Maybe the accuracy will improve as it nears the release date, but for now, it seems ok enough for casual Office users. I'm sure for images with a distinctive background and subject contrast, the program will not have a hard time distinguishing the background from the subject. Peut-être permettra d'améliorer la précision comme il se rapproche de la date de sortie, mais pour l'instant, il semble bien suffisant pour les utilisateurs occasionnels Office. Je suis sûr que pour les images avec un caractère distinctif contexte et l'objet revanche, le programme n'aura pas de mal à distinguer le fond du sujet.
