You can rename “filename.wps” to “filename.doc.” It’s very convenient to open a wps file!

OpenOffice.org, free alternative to microsoft works, for Win or Linux can open WPS files also!

Thanks Adrian! I was able to follow your extra tip and open my WPS file. Whew! Once I did that, everything was good. Why do people still use WPS files!!!

i downloaded both converters for works 2000 and works 6-9 as i didn’t know which works version was being used. After that i had to change the preferred program via “properties” on the WPS files to Word and only then would they open in Word – it does work. Thanks!

there is a small conversion update for wps files, i could then open it with word 2007 and 2003 viewer,

its a small program and it works once it installs just try to open it. worked for me.

Save file to desktop then open with Word and it will then open the wps file or lead you to download the wps converter.

I’m trying to open an “.wps” file in Outlook Express. I’m running XP Pro and Word 2003. There is no drop down list that says “open with” when right-clicked. What do I do please?

I recently purchased MS Works version 9, hoping and expecting that it would be able to open my old (versions 1, 2and 3) Works files. IT CAN’T !!! grrrrrrrrr……

I’ve downloaded several programs on windows seven and I can install them but once they are installed I cannot open them! Where do I open these Programs?
