Everytime I open a MS Office doc such as Word that I receive through Outlook 2007 and try to open it for the first time it gives me a error “Microsoft Office Program Recovery “Error and that it needs to close.What to do. . .???????

I have same problem with my MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook). It appears every time I try to insert a picture from a file. How can I resolve this?

Thanks alot for the help, you can not imagine how much your article has helped me.

I tried all and it does not work, until, i went to your suggestion to delete mail which might caused the problem, which i did delete rom the web mail and the i tried outlook, i sent many mails and i have received them. everything works fine right now, thanks alot for your great article which has helped me more than the Microsoft site.

I have outlook 2000 and each time I try to open it the error message appears – it’s a recent problem and I’ve tried all of the above – nothing works – not even unistalling and re-installing – not even creating a new account – I can’t even open the program! Help

There must be a bad mail in my box. It wont let me open outlook and a message comes up saying that Cannot open default mail folders. Error in dectected file C;/users/users/appdata/Local/Microsoft/Outlook/outlook.pst It then tells me to look in inbox tools but I cant open it. How can I fix? Thanks

Thank you for your clear post and great visuals. Method 3 worked for me. An Itunes add-in appears to have caused the problem.

I don’t get why Microsoft can’t acknowledge that there may be more than one cause to the problem. Instead the Knowledge Base lists just one possible solution.

My problem is different, i was writing offline ‘Internet explorer has incurred a problem” and the screen shut down. The net book is still on. I had to remove the battery to shut it down. Does anyone have any idea whats’ going on other than the obvious. Net book is 8 month old.

Outlook experienced the problem after receiving a particular email. I used outlook/safe to keep outlook open and deleted the offending email. Many thanks for the tip.

Hola me gusto tu post, describire algunas cosas.

1.-Prove todas las soluciones descritas para el error “microsoft office outlook ha detectado un problema y debe cerrarse”
2.- Desintale todo, borre registros con el RegSeeker/CcLeaner.
3. Borre carpeta en archivos de programa office.
4.- Borre carpeta de office en archivos comunes.-
5.- El error continua.-

Cabe destacar que no he instalado nada, el problema surgio cuando estaba trabajando con el notebook se me apago de una(se me desconecto).- Lo reinicie y empezo el error.-
(windows xp, sp2 x64)

right click on the outlook on your start up menu then click properties then create a new profile then select the new profile then re-create you email account and open outlook then go to your Tools>Acc settings>Data files click add then select the old pst then check under personal folders if ur old emails are the the copy them to the new profiles. I that helps

Hi, hope you can help me. I turned off the laptop by clicking “shutdown” and must have corrupted some file …I try to open outlook and the following message appears: “Unable to start the Microsof Office Outlook. Could not open the window Outlook, Could not open the folder X. Errors were identified in the file D:\…outlook.pst. Close Outlook and all mail-enabled applications and use the repair tool inbox (scanpst.exe) to diagnose and repair errors in the file.
