I want to transfer my contacts from one computer to another. I think I have to make a folder of them then put them on a memory stick. When I open them in the folder they appear in Excel format. Is this right?

How to export contacts in a category from Outlook:
1.) Open an Excel spreadsheet.
2.) Go to Outlook and make sure all the data you want to export is showing in the category view.
3.) Select all the contacts in a specific category.
4.) Ctrl + C - Copy the contacts selected.
5.) Go to Excel and paste the selected info into the spreadsheet.
6.) Save the spreadsheet in whatever export format you need.

C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook

In Microsoft Outlook, I copied the Outlook folder (as listed above) to my hard disk. Later, I upgraded to Microsoft Outlook 2010, then pasted and replaced the Backup Folder (Outlook folder in my hard disk) to C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook.

Is this the method that should work correctly?

I am on classic view and trying to get my Outlook 07 contacts into a new Yahoo account. It keeps showing 0 contacts. Do I need to re-map? What fields?

I transferred contacts from one computer to another but the distribution lists did not follow. In Microsoft Outlook 2003, I go into New, Distribution list, select Members, highlight and click. However, under the Name column, the emails are there not the actual names and under the Email column the emails are there again. How do I get the clients' names under Names while maintaining the actual emails under their correct column?
