Close original message when you reply or forward an email in Outlook 2007

Do you normally get around 100+ emails a day while at the office? If so, you’re like everyone else in corporate America that has to deal with a ton of email everyday! Anything, and I mean absolutely anything, that can reduce the time you have to spent in your Inbox is great.
If you’re looking for a quick and easy timesaver for Outlook, then check this one out. Basically, it’s a setting in Outlook 2007 that will automatically close the original email message after you reply or forward it.
So if you have a tons of email that you open, then click Reply or Forward, once you click Send, both messages will be closed automatically, no need to close the original message.
Here’s how you set this up in Outlook 2007. First open Outlook and click on Tools and then Options.
On the Preferences tab, click on E-mail Options under the E-mail section.
Under the Message Handling section, check the Close original message on reply or forward box.
Click OK twice and now test it out by opening an email and replying to it or forwarding it. This little trick has saved me quite a bit of time, so I would highly suggest you try it if you use Outlook a lot. It’s a great Outlook productivity booster. [via Tech Recipes]
