If you are getting a “can’t be burn” … error code 0x8002006E or other error code when burning to a blank DVD+RW disc, try to first erasing it with Disk Utility ( Mac OS X application) and then follow the above. Erased it and it worked like a charm. Thanks for posting.

I used to be able to burn DVDs on my Mac. Now it won’t burn. It just ejects the blank DVD. My Mac will still play DVDs, though.

Is there any advice on how to fix it?

Thanks for the tip! I was concerned when I couldn’t find an icon for the DVD that I inserted.

To answer Maya’s question, I believe you need to use third party software to create a playable DVD. I use Toast. It’s quirky and buggy but works enough of the time to be useful.
