Firfox better than IE8?… quite possible, haven’t used it and can’t really say. I do know this, Beta was supposedly better than VHS too… and we know how that turned out. You have to roll with the majority on these things… or the standards become so broad that support is un-bearable.

IE8 is just more complicated and harder to use. Use Firefox and get all the flexibility you need without all the headaches.

hello people,
i dont know why i keep going back to microsoft products but i just hoped and wished that IE 8 would be a good one but i got fooled this time too. IE 8 on my 3gb ram machine which runs VISTA froze half way and it continued to do so everytime i try to use it.
i really appreciate MS people who are trying to keep their heads high even after failing so much. please, stop developing IE crap and let us all use firefox. better would be if MS starts publicizing firefox. thanks

To the Unnamed freak… DRM was not MS idea so where should we have you started with?

And yes, OpenOffice is the best free suite but still crap if compared to MS Office. Good for Linux people who are actually wanna-be ala windows…

I respect and like all OS’s and software but absoulutely have no respect for religious freaks that hate MS just for the heck of it…

IE is the most used browser because it comes with Windows, if it didn’t it’s market share would be 5% instead of 95% (which I doubt). It is really interesting that ALL OTHER browsers “see” CSS in one and IE in another way. It’s a complete disaster and Microsoft should be severely for monopolizing the browser market with IE bundled with windows! Maybe Microsoft should hire some REAL programmers who will make a good version of IE!

Freddy, first of all Vista fell far short of even m$ofts expectations. Most companies laugh or shudder at the idea of upgrading to vista. IE has got the market share because it is the default browser installed with windows. Not because it is the best. I agree that after a bit of use I much prefer the ribbon and that was indeed a good move. Openoffice is a decent piece of software, although it cannot match the features of Office for the avergage user who has not even used half of the features of office it is a great free alternative. I am unsure what sort of experience you have with different OS (If you have only used m$oft OS environments then you dont really know how good or bad vista is do you, with there being nothing for you to compare it to) but there are better alternatives out there and some of them are even free. The only barrier is your mindset. Dont even get me started on DRM.

This is stupid to say DWiner. You are just bitter because your computer is too old and doesnt run any new apps. Ha I’ve seen so many like you that spend hours typing nonsense about vista without having even tried it yet. Explorer just happen to cover 95% of the browsing market and you suggest to desregard. The ribbon from office is great. It has showed me personally about a ton of usable features I didn’t know how to find in office. But of course if it was up to you we would all be using XP, office 2003, and open office of course the biggest pile of junk I had ever stumble upon since open source apps came to be. I suggest to keep playing your nintendo NES stop complaining because Vista is the best OS out there.

Not to mention…but…since the evolution of Vista, things went haywire with Microsoft. Vista is such a flop…so i feel with Office 2007 with the introduction of the so called silly ribbon…and now follows IE8…all crap…where is Microsoft heading to…I suggest all folks to simply switch to Firefox if they have not yet…and of course…there is Open Office for those who hate MS Office.
