Customize and improve the speed and security of Internet Explorer 7

Have you ever wished that Internet Explorer could be just like Firefox? Wouldn’t it be nice if you could extend, customize or enhance Internet Explorer 7, make it run faster, increase it’s security and have your forms spell checked while typing? Maybe you’re forced to use Internet Explorer at your office or because that’s what the rest of your family is used to instead of Firefox.

IE7PRO is an add-on to Internet Explorer 7 that adds a bunch of great features that you can only find with Firefox right now. And the best part about it is that it’s completely free!

Here are a couple of the major features of IE7Pro that make it an essential download in my book if you’re using Internet Explorer 7:

  • Enhanced IE Tabbed Browsing Capabilities - Features include the ability to close a tab by double-clicking, open a new tab from the address bar, enable/disable tab browse history, enable crash recovery, hide search bar, and select external program to view source code.

  • Super Drag and Drop - Easily open links by dragging them onto the page and also search selected words by dragging and dropping over search box.

  • Mouse Gestures - You can perform common tasks such as opening and closing tabs, moving forward and backward, printing, scrolling, and more using gestures.

  • Crash Recovery - Internet Explorer will automatically restore all open tabs after a crash has occurred.

  • Save Page to Image - A nice tool that will capture an entire web page as an image file (JPG, BMP, GIF, or TIFF) with the click of a button.

  • Quick Proxy Switcher - Use proxy servers? Using this addon, you can setup multiple ones and switch between them quickly. No more manual work.

  • AD Blocker - Blocks just about every type of pop-up ad including flash ads, rich media, fly-ins, pop-unders, spyware and adware.

  • Greasemonkey like Scripts - This is by far my favorite feature. Allows you to re-mix web pages so that they look different or act differently just like Firefox.

  • Spell Check - Any text that you type while in Internet Explorer 7 will be spell checked and a red line will be added for misspelled words.

Once installed, you can configure a zillion different options by clicking on the Perferences button at the top right.

You can enable/disable and configure all of the options in this dialog. It includes everything for each feature, such as Ad Blocker, Search, Scripts, etc.

This add-on for Internet Explorer 7 is really awesome and makes IE somewhat more tolerable to use! So if you’re not willing to switch to Firefox, but always hear about those cool features, you can now get extend and enhance Internet Explorer 7 easily.

    IE PRO is indeed a wonderful add-on for IE. I had written an article on top add-ons for IE7.

    IE7Pro is a WICKED add-on coz its like having 4 add-ons in 1. The new version is 100% stable and hasnt caused me any grief (yet).

    I thought I’d take the opportunity to tell anyone who’s bothered to read this that I found a brilliant website dedicated to internet explorer AND firefox.
