Google AdSense Beta looks promising!

Google is going to be trying out a new model for advertising called “Cost Per Action“, which will charge the advertiser only when a particular action has been completed by the customer, such as signing up for a newsletter or downloading a piece of software.
So now, rather than having to pay per click, which may not result in a sale or which could be a fraudulent click, the advertiser can choose to pay for an “action” at which the sale is considered “converted”. This sounds great to me! Why pay per thousand impressions or by click, when you can say I will pay when a customer comes to my site and buys my product or downloads my file! It will help side step all of the current fraud of pay per click model, in which Google states that almost 10% of clicks are actually fake clicks by automated systems. I’m sure an automated system is not going to be buying your products and if it does, hooray for you!
The model shift won’t do much for the very large companies that advertise because they keep very close track of their ROI, but for small companies or individuals, this will be a blessing. You can be assured that you will only have to pay when a customer performs a value action that you define!
