You will need to create a Google account if you have not already done so in order to use the My Maps feature. You can also add these little pin points anywhere you like on the map by simply using the set of tools in the upper left hand corner. The nice part is that once you draw your shape, you can easily edit it by simply clicking on the handles (which are the white square boxes) and adjusting it as you like. Another little note: If you performed a search to find something you wanted to map, but it ended up returning a bunch of results and you have already saved the place you wanted to your personal map, you can click “Clear Search Results” link that’s right below the “Search Results” and “My Maps” tab and is hard to see! Once you have your map created, you can share it with others by simply clicking on the Link to this page link at the top right directly above the map.
