Google Search Tips - Shortcuts search methods

If you’re a big Google searcher like me, you probably have come up with ways to narrow down your search results just by playing around with quotes or using the + and - symbols. But I hadn’t learned anything new in a long time so decided to check what other kinds of search I could perform in Google since they always seem to come up with new ways of find things…
Here’s one way to search for things that I had not seen until today! And it’s pretty cool if you’re looking for a specific product! Let’s say you want to buy a laptop, but your price range is between $300 and $600 and you that’s all you want to see. Well you can use Google search to perform this query easily! Here’s how:
laptop $300..$600
You type in the search term and put the starting dollar amount followed by two periods and then the maximum dollar amount! Now you filtered all your results to exactly what you’re using Google rather than having to go to specific shopping sites and doing a search with a specific price range!
And you can use this method for just about everything! All units of measure you can think of will work here. Let’s say you’re looking for a baseball bat for your son and he wants something between 27 inches and 32 inches:
baseball bat 27..32 in
Or let’s say you’re rich and you’re looking to buy a bass boat between that’s 15 to 20 ft long:
bass boat 15..20ft
Try units for anything else you can think of: oz, lbs, horse power (hp), dates (i.e. 1990..2000)!
Want to get a motorcycle that has horsepower between 200 and 300:
motorcycle 200..300 hp
You your imagination and you can find exactly what you’re looking for and get the power of Google’s search.
Package Tracking Search
Another cool search feature is the ability to type in a tracking number and get the latest information on your package! Simply type in the UPS, FedEx, or USPS into the search box and that’s it! Very useful if you get packages from various carriers and have to go to each vendor’s site to get information.
Google Maps Search
Here’s a useful search if you’re already not familiar with it for Google maps. If you’re trying to get directions from point A to point B, you usually would click the Get Directions button underneath the search box, which would then give you two boxes to type in the source and destination address. But there’s an easier way!
Simply type in the first address in the text box and then type “to” and then type in the second address as so:
street address, city, state to street address, city, state
And that’s it! It figures it out for you and gets your the directions!
