My 2nd reason on why we should not use it: People are using Facebook and Twitter statuses to find out if you are not at home, and thereafter burglarize your place. A Vacation Responder will notify those who send spam that they have a valid email address. Instead of turning on a Vacation Responder, I have set up an email list to ask friends to not send me email from date x to date y because I will be out of town.
