GPS Tracking Key – Vehicle and car GPS tracking device

I recently purchased a GPS unit for my car from Garmin and I have to say that GPS tracking is the most amazing thing ever. Even when I go to the office everyday, I just love watching the GPS show me where to turn and exactly where I am down to just a few feet! These GPS devices are for the most part useful for knowing your current location and getting you front point A to point B.
But what if you wanted a GPS device so that you could track the location of something else entirely, for example, a vehicle or a fleet of cars? Well, amazingly enough, you can purchase a small GPS tracking device along with a GPS tracking software program for less than the cost of some of the Garmin and Tom Tom GPS devices!
The GPS Tracking Key is an affordable $299 (only $229 if you buy it before the 6th of Jan) tracking device with software that can track any moving object and plot it onto a map for you that shows the driving history and speed! So what can you use this type of device for? Here’s a few examples from the web site itself:
- Concerned if your teenager is driving recklessly or wondering about where they are going?
- Suspect your spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend of infidelity?
- Wondering if your employees are using your vehicles for personal use?
- Need a travel history of your limos, taxis, buses or other commercial vehicles?
The device is very small and can fit into your pocket easily. It receives signals from the twenty-four Department of Defense satellites orbiting the Earth to pinpoint to location of the device to within 2.5 meters and records this data into it’s memory every second.
Along with the hardware device, the LandAirSea Tracking software is included, which allows you to accurately determine where a person traveled, how fast they drove, where they stopped and for how long! The data recorded can be displayed over a street map, satellite images or in a text report.
The tracking key uses only 2 AA batteries and is waterproof, so you can attach it to the bottom of car with it’s powerful magnet. The average battery life for the device is about 2 weeks with the AA batteries if the car is driven for 2 hours. I’m not superiorly impressed with the battery life, two weeks is a pretty short amount of time.
The cool thing is that the data is compatible with Google Earth, so you can import the data directly into the program. It will even animate a car along the path tracked by the device.
So if you’re looking for a simple and cheap way to track an automobile via GPS, then definitely check out this handy little device! Enjoy!
