Use IKEA stuff to hang your TV

If you’re a big IKEA person, then first you should go to the IKEA Hacks blog, which is a sweet site on how to use IKEA stuff to create all kinds of cool stuff for your house. The one that caught my eye was the post on how to use the IKEA stoleman wardrobe system to create a very cool looking flat panel TV mount! Here’s what it looks like:

This is fabulous if you’re trying to mount your LCD or Plasma TV, but find that’s it’s too heavy for your drywall! And it sucks to buy a thin TV only to put it onto a stand that sticks out a foot and a half! This really looks great too!

Now to attach the TV to the railing, you’ll need to get a TV mount for this. The person who did this used a peerless smart mount, which is supposed to be attached to the wall, but you can use it to attach directly to the stoleman rails. The mount is attached to the rails by using 6 1/4″ x 2″ hex bolts (I have no idea what that is, but you can look it up!).

Then all you have to do is screw the mount plate onto the back of the TV and take the whole thing and just hang it onto the rails using the bolts! Pretty easy and very nice looking. Good hack!
