Listen to sample of millions of songs for free using Yahoo! Audio Search

How many times have you been sitting on the computer doing work when suddenly a song pops into your head, but you can’t remember the lyrics? Or you just want to listen to a part of it quickly? Well, if that happens to your often, you can now use Yahoo! Audio Search to find and play samples of millions of songs!

When you perform a search, there is an embedded player whereby you can instantly playback any song in the search results window itself. That means no pop-ups or any software to download, just click Play sample to listen to a 30-second sample of song.

Simply search for your favorite artist, songs, albums, or lyrics and listen to everything instantly! A great way to test out which tracks of a new album you like before you go and buy them on iTunes or from some other music site.

For example, to listen to tracks by Black Eyed Pea’s, type their name and click search to get the results shown below:

Firstly, notice the new Play Sample button with the orange arrow to the right of the song name. You’ll also notice that some songs have a link to the lyrics song if it could be found. You can also click on the More Options link to to choose a particular format (MP3, RAM, MIDI, WMA, ACC, etc), duration, source, and whether you want major releases or minor ones also.

Once you decide you like a song and you want to download it, you can click on the green linking showing how many online stores have it available, including iTunes, BuyMusic.com, MSNMusic, etc. You’ll also get the price from each store for the song along with other information such as the format of the song and whether you can burn it to cd or makes copies of it.

Finally, you can also select your preferred audio service by clicking the link at the top right of the search results. This allows you to link to your favorite audio provider directly from the search results page.

The sound quality of the samples is excellent and quite fun to simply listen to a few songs quickly if you’re bored and want to waste some time! Enjoy!
