I think the best Windows file manager is Total Commander. It's got a lot of nice feature and a better interface.

Good program, but Total Commander is a much better Windows file manager replacement. It has a lot more features and keyboard shortcuts than NexusFile.

It takes just 2 steps to change the color from black to white.

First Step
- View, Skin, Classic.

Second Step
- Tools, Options, Color, Import, White.

I like it the moment I see it.. it is jam packed with features and all are well laid out. Compact interface with toons of powerfull features.

You can't get this anywhere else at this price.

To those who don't like default interface.
1. View -> Skin. Change it to Classic
2. Tools -> Option -> Color. Import white1 / white2 as per your preference.
You can also set default right click menu to Emplorer menu

It is fast and feature rich. So you'll love it.

Though I agree default view should be the one use is comfortable with, else they'll form an initial block even before trying the s/w.

The interface is hideous. Changing the colors is difficult in that you have to select each facet individually and pick a color. And even after that effort the title bars are still black. Red on black is more difficult to read than black on white.

Tools > Options > Color is a lot of effort?

> Most PC’s have thousands of files on their hard drives.

Well thanks for the blazing insight Captain Obvious, but you failed to recognize how customizable this application is.

I've been playing around with this for a couple of hours and love it already. The default skin looks high tech; red on black is extremely easy to read. Some very welcome interface additions (like the built-in renamer) and subtle usability touches has this growing on me. Takes some getting used to, but rather addictive. Try it out.

Ack, this is some terrible UI design, and that goes beyond the black background.

The basic problem with custom software applications is that they never are designed for the average user. MS File Manager (Explorer) may be "long-in-the-tooth", but it works for the average user.

NexusFile may have a lot of good features, but I can't get past the black background with gray and red fonts. It take a lot of effort to change the the colors to something that is easier to read.

I'll wait until the creator of this application recognizes that he needs to make this easy to read. Most PC's have thousands of files on their hard drives.
