It FAR surpasses "Desktops" by sysinternals in every respect. "Desktops" is pretty simplistic in function. If all you want to do is use a hotkey to switch your virtual desktops Dexpot is still the preferable choice. You can use the Desktop Manager or not. You can choose how the sytem tray displays the Dexpot icon or you can hide it completely.

Something this article doesn't mention is that you don't even have to install it on your system; it's completely portable. You can keep it on a USB drive and use it on your computer at work. If you choose to store the portable exe in a folder on your hard drive, you can STILL configure it to startup with Windows.

Every feature of this program is fully configurable. You can move individual windows from one desktop to another, copy a window to all desktops and close a window on one or all desktops. I feel like I need to say "But wait, that's not all!" Seriously, this little app is amazing and I can't imagine not using it. It's also completely free with no nags... of course, if you use it and like it, the developers won't turn away your donation offer.
