De Evenwichtstoestand van de Vensters van het gebruik onderaan gebruiker te beheren en te sluiten geeft van gedeelde toegangscomputers rekenschap

De Evenwichtstoestand van vensters is een nieuwe en vrije softwaretoepassing voor Vensters XP die niet-het Beroeps toestaat om gedeelde computers te beschermen en snel en gemakkelijk te beveiligen. Dit programma is fundamenteel gestript onderaan makkelijk te gebruiken versie van de Console van het Beheer van het Beleid van de Groep in de Server 2003 van Vensters. Nu zou u kunnen benieuwd zijn waarom ik over het op een blog schrijf die verondersteld om voor de „gemeenschappelijke man“ is te zijn!? Goed, is het omdat dit programma niet voor IT wordt bedoeld Pro, heeft het voor regelmatige mensen betekend die een paar gedeelde computers, zoals bij een bibliotheek, de koffie van Internet, school, of in uw huis moeten controleren.

Het programma is zeer klein (slechts 4MB), maar het heeft heel wat eigenschappen en het is zeer eenvoudig aan opstelling. Dit is een groot programma voor iedereen wie veel jonge geitjes heeft en er slechts één slechte Desktop die door iedereen voor Internet, muziek, movies, spelen, het werk gebruikt wordt, enz. is. Uiteindelijk wordt die computer een virus of een craplading van spyware en dan IT Pro moet worden geroepen (als me), die u dan $100 aanrekent om het gehele systeem teniet te doen en vers het opnieuw te installeren! Als u reeds in die staat bent, zal dit u niet helpen!

Anders, kunt u opstelling uw nieuwe vers gevormde Desktop met de Evenwichtstoestand van Vensters en de volgende dingen doen: plaats beperkingen op een rekening door rekening basis (deze omvatten het beperken van toegang die tot de montages van Vensters, de toegang van Internet controleert, die dossiers en omslagen beschermt tegen wordt betreden, en verwijderend punten uit de interface van Vensters), de updates van de programmasoftware, en de Bescherming van de Schijf van gebruiksVensters om om het even welke veranderingen in het werkende systeem te verhinderen.

Zodra het programma wordt geïnstalleerde, zult u een hulpgids krijgen die u door alle montages zal lopen die u kunt vormen. Hier is wat het belangrijkste scherm van het programma als kijkt:

het klikken De vastgestelde Beperkingen van de Computer u de opties voor beperkingen zal geven die voor de volledige computer, ongeacht de gebruikersrekening moeten worden geplaatst. De belangrijkste eigenschappen, echter, zijn de dingen u met gebruikersrekeningen kunt doen. Eerst, zou u willen klikken Voeg een Nieuwe Gebruiker toe om een nieuw gedeeld gebruikersprofiel te creëren. Voor De Plaats van de gebruiker, kies de aandrijving van C tenzij u de Bescherming van de Schijf van Vensters hebt. Ik zal waarom later verklaren. The General Settings allow you to lock the profile, so that if the user makes changes to the desktop, start menu, etc, those changes will not be saved once the user logs off. You can also set a timer for an idle or in-use session, so that the computer will log off after a specified number of minutes.

But it only gets fun once you get to Windows Restrictions! Here you can either choose a template setting of High, Medium, Low or No restrictions or you can manually check and uncheck the features you desire. They are broken down into Start Menu and General Restrictions. I would suggest just picking one of the templates and seeing how it works on your own. You can also hide certain drives from the user also!

Next up are the Feature restrictions, which include Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office. Here is where you can block all sites on the Internet, except the few that you want your child to view. Again, you can choose a template from the left side. If you’re not sure what these options mean, go ahead and set them and then use the account yourself to test whether it stops you from doing something you would want that user to be able to do.

And lastly, you can block programs that you don’t want that user to be able to run. The nice thing is that you get a list of every program installed on your computer on the left and you simply have to choose it and add it to the box on the right to block it! So if you don’t want someone to run Yahoo Messenger or open up TurboTax and view your tax info, add it to the right!

Also, I forgot to mention what Windows Disk Protection does! If you turn that on, it will basically protect your Windows systems files from being changed. That means, let’s say you turn it on and install 10 programs, then once you restart the computer, the computer will revert back to the state it was in when you first turned the protection on, which means all those programs are gone. This is only useful if you want to protect a computer from viruses and spyware or you do not want anything changed after a certain configuration (useful for libraries or schools).

So that’s Windows SteadyState! A free and very cool program that you can use to help prevent your computer from becoming a piece of junk! I can attest that placing restrictions on computers is the BEST way to avoid spyware, viruses or just a slow computer. It’s used in just about every office of large organizations, but has always been too complicated to use for regular folks at smaller places.

Im sorry if this seems like a silly question, but if i do want the Protection on, where do i save the new user profile to?

Hi Ryan, good question, it’s not silly at all. If you have the Disk Protection feature on, this means that Windows will not allow any changes to the system files on the C drive, so you should create the new user profiles on a separate partition, such as D, E, etc.

Now if you only have one local drive, C, that’s also ok, simply create a new folder at the root of your C drive called Users or something similar and create the accounts there.
