L'uso Windows SteadyState controllare ed utente della serratura giù rappresenta i calcolatori comuni di accesso

Windows SteadyState è una nuova e domanda libera del software di Windows XP che gli permette che non-i professionisti proteggano rapidamente e facilmente e fissino i calcolatori comuni. Questo programma è basicamente messo a nudo giù facile usare la versione della sezione comandi dell'amministrazione di politica del gruppo in assistente 2003 di Windows. Ora potreste domandarti perchè sto scrivendo a questo proposito su un blog che è supposto per essere per “l'uomo comune„!? Bene, è perché questo programma non è significato per ESSO pro, esso ha significato per la gente normale che deve controllare alcuni calcolatori comuni, quale ad una biblioteca, il caffè del Internet, scuola, o nella vostra sede.

Il programma è molto piccolo (soltanto 4MB), ma ha caratteristiche molto ed è molto semplice da installare. Ciò è un programma grande per chiunque che abbia lotti dei capretti e ci è soltanto un povero tavolo che ottiene usato da tutto per il Internet, la musica, i film, i giochi, il lavoro, ecc. Finalmente che il calcolatore ottiene un virus o un carico del crap di spyware ed allora pro deve essere denominato (come me), che allora spese voi $100 per eliminare il sistema intero e per reinstallarli fresco! Se siete già in quanto dichiari, questo non li aiuterà!

Altrimenti, potete installare il vostro nuovo tavolo di recente configurato con Windows SteadyState e fare le seguenti cose: disponga le limitazioni su un cliente dalla base di cliente (questi includono l'accesso di limitazione alle regolazioni di Windows, l'accesso di controllo del Internet, le lime di protezione ed i dispositivi di piegatura dal essere raggiunto e rimuovendo gli articoli dall'interfaccia di Windows), programmi gli aggiornamenti del software ed usi la protezione del disc di Windows per impedire tutti i cambiamenti al sistema operativo.

Una volta che il programma è installato, otterrete una guida di aiuto che camminerà voi attraverso tutte le regolazioni che potete configurare. Qui è a che cosa lo schermo principale del programma assomiglia:

Scattarsi sopra Regoli le limitazioni del calcolatore gli darà le opzioni per le limitazioni che devono essere disposte per l'intero calcolatore, senza riguardo al cliente dell'utente. Aggiornamenti del software di programma è basicamente la sezione comandi automatica degli aggiornamenti dal pannello di controllo: potete programmare un momento per gli aggiornamenti ed anche scegliere che i programmi di sicurezza voi desidererebbero aggiornato se fate installare il Anti-Virus.

Le caratteristiche principali, tuttavia, sono le cose che potete fare con i clienti dell'utente. In primo luogo, desiderereste scattarti Aggiunga un nuovo utente per generare un nuovo profilo di utente comune. Per Posizione dell'utente, scelga l'azionamento di C a meno che abbiate protezione del disc di Windows sopra. Spiegherò perchè più successivamente. Ora che avete un nuovo utente, potete scattare il loro nome nella scatola delle regolazioni dell'utente e configurare tutte le limitazioni! E ci è molto loro!

The General Settings allow you to lock the profile, so that if the user makes changes to the desktop, start menu, etc, those changes will not be saved once the user logs off. You can also set a timer for an idle or in-use session, so that the computer will log off after a specified number of minutes.

But it only gets fun once you get to Windows Restrictions! Here you can either choose a template setting of High, Medium, Low or No restrictions or you can manually check and uncheck the features you desire. They are broken down into Start Menu and General Restrictions. I would suggest just picking one of the templates and seeing how it works on your own. You can also hide certain drives from the user also!

Next up are the Feature restrictions, which include Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office. Here is where you can block all sites on the Internet, except the few that you want your child to view. Again, you can choose a template from the left side. If you’re not sure what these options mean, go ahead and set them and then use the account yourself to test whether it stops you from doing something you would want that user to be able to do.

And lastly, you can block programs that you don’t want that user to be able to run. The nice thing is that you get a list of every program installed on your computer on the left and you simply have to choose it and add it to the box on the right to block it! So if you don’t want someone to run Yahoo Messenger or open up TurboTax and view your tax info, add it to the right!

Also, I forgot to mention what Windows Disk Protection does! If you turn that on, it will basically protect your Windows systems files from being changed. That means, let’s say you turn it on and install 10 programs, then once you restart the computer, the computer will revert back to the state it was in when you first turned the protection on, which means all those programs are gone. This is only useful if you want to protect a computer from viruses and spyware or you do not want anything changed after a certain configuration (useful for libraries or schools).

So that’s Windows SteadyState! A free and very cool program that you can use to help prevent your computer from becoming a piece of junk! I can attest that placing restrictions on computers is the BEST way to avoid spyware, viruses or just a slow computer. It’s used in just about every office of large organizations, but has always been too complicated to use for regular folks at smaller places.

Im sorry if this seems like a silly question, but if i do want the Protection on, where do i save the new user profile to?

Hi Ryan, good question, it’s not silly at all. If you have the Disk Protection feature on, this means that Windows will not allow any changes to the system files on the C drive, so you should create the new user profiles on a separate partition, such as D, E, etc.

Now if you only have one local drive, C, that’s also ok, simply create a new folder at the root of your C drive called Users or something similar and create the accounts there.
