Clip2Net - Share files, folders and screenshots easily

Is there a file or folder that you want to quickly share with someone or with a couple of people? Maybe it’s too large to attach to an email or maybe you want to send an entire folder, but you don’t know how to zip it up? Or what if you need a screenshot or video capture of your desktop to send to colleagues?
Currently if you wanted to share a screenshot of an area on your desktop, you’d have to use a screen capture program like SnagIt and then save it to your computer locally and then either email it to everyone via attachment or upload it to some other file sharing service.
Or you can try out Clip2Net, a cool web publishing service that lets you share your screen with other easily, share files and folder instantly, and even upload music and video that can be streamed to any computer for listening and watching.
Here are some of the basic features of Clip2Net that make pretty useful, even though there are already many file sharing services out there:
- Capture desktop area and auto-upload
- Capture desktop video and auto-upload
- Upload image from the Windows Clipboard
- Upload text documents
- Upload multiple files at once (get a link to the zip file that will be generated)
- Drag-and-drop any number of files into Drop Zone
- Preview clips or view list of files before uploading
- Publishing by e-mail
- Music/Video sharing and playing from web-site
The cool thing about Clip2Net is the fact that if you register, which is free, you get 500 MB of free online storage space, so you can store screenshots, videos, files, or even whole folders instantly and get a link for each item that you can then share with family and friends.
Once you have downloaded Clip2Net and installed it on your computer, you’ll see the small little up arrow icon in your system tray. Double-clicking on the icon will automatically start the screenshot capture and you can simply drag your mouse over the area you want to capture. You’ll then get the capture with a few options:
Across the tab, you have options for adding text, freehand writing, rectangles and circles in four different colors. You can add a comment to the picture and also add password protection to the picture if you like. You can then either save the screenshot to your computer locally by clicking the Save button or click Publish and upload the picture to Clip2Net.
By default, the Drop Zone is not enabled. The Drop Zone basically is a small icon that appears in the upper right hand corner of your desktop where you can simply drag and drop files or folders to be automatically uploaded. The thing is really like is that I can drop a folder and it will zip it for me and give me the direct link to the zip file, making it super easy to share a folder with many files.
You can enable the Drop Zone by right-clicking on the system tray icon and choosing Settings.
At the top left, you’ll see the option “Enable files Drop Zone“. Go ahead and check it. Here you can also fill in the information for your Clip2Net account.
Now you’ll see the icon in the right corner of your desktop. When you drag something on to it, you’ll get the same display window as when we captured a screenshot.
As you probably already noticed from the screen shot of the context-menu for the tray icon, you can also Publish Desktop Area, which will capture the entire desktop, capture video, publish text, publish files, publish the clipboard, and more.
One other cool feature of Clip2Net is it’s integration with the Picnik image editing service. Picnik is an online image editing tool that gives you most of the basic and some advanced tools for image editing. You can capture a screenshot, edit it in Picnik and then publish it.
Overall, Clip2Net is a pretty convenient service that works fast and gets the job done. I also like the fact that it joins multiple services together like screen capturing, image editing, video capturing, file sharing, and music/video streaming. That’s pretty neat! Enjoy! Source: LifeHacker
