Computer Guy at TechTips:

I tried to send the following message to the Bug report feature of JDvoicemail, but every time I try it tells me that the numeric code I entered is not correct. This is impossible -- I know how to read and write simple numbers. I must give this software a thumbs down, and to complain because of wasted time, because I can't get it to send an e-mail (to anyone, even myself), and there are no instructions as to how to set up your own e-mail client to operate with JDVoicemail, not in the help file, the troubleshooting file, or anywhere else I could find.

Here is the message I tried to send but wasn't allowed to:

When I try to send a voicemail message to myself, I get the following error message (from Outlook Express which I DON'T want to use -- I want to use Thunderbird): "The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was 'frankd14612@gmail.com'. Subject 'A voice message for you !!!', Account: 'pop.gmail.com', Server: 'smtp.gmail.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. 5sm2679050qwh.30', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 530, Error Number: 0x800CCC78"

My primary e-mail client is Thunderbird, with Outlook Express 6 somewhere in the background (under WinXP Pro SP3). Your program, JDVoicemail, does not allow me to configure it for Thunderbird, and I do NOT use Outlook Express at all. How do I get around this roadblock and set up Thunderbird as my primary e-mail program?
