Media Jukebox - Completely Free Music Management Software
Posted on March 13, 2008 at 6:55 am
In the need for some music management software? Sometimes, I lose track of where I have put some of my MP3 music files on my Windows computer. Even worse, I stumble across duplicate copies of the same music file every now and then. Whether you realize it or not, this file mismanagement can lead to a much bigger problem.
If those files are not managed and organized properly, just wait until your hard disk is filled with unnecessary, duplicated music files. To solve this problem, I’ve started using a free music management software called Media Jukebox, created by J.River.
What Media Jukebox Does
Media Jukebox is one the best digital music jukebox apps that you can find out there, besides iTunes. Being a complete music management software, it was created to help you collect, organize and play music files inside your computer. It also offers superior customization for serious audiophiles.

Media Jukebox Features
- Intuitive file organization interface that offers customization on custom display views and fields. You can create custom category fields on your own too!
- Supports more music file formats than its competitors.
- Support music file synchronization between your computer and the Apple iPod, selected hand phones and PDAs or PlayforSure device.

- Available in 3 different view sizes - Standard, Mini and Display.
- Podcast support.
- Create your own playlist and playlist group.
- Smartlist - a dynamic playlist that grabs music files based on filters set by a user. For example, you can automatically create a playlist based on a rule such as “Album Artist is…“

- Extensive, advanced file tagging support.
- Automatic lookup for a music file album art, track and CD.
- Built in music services e.g. Amazon MP3 so you can buy and import DRM free songs directly to Media Jukebox.
- Music CD ripper.
- Burn your music collection to a CD from the Advanced Tool.
- Print custom CD covers capability.
- Encode / convert music to various formats - WMA, OGG, FLAC etc.
- High quality DSP settings that produce bit perfect music.
- Quick Play mode for instant music play.
- Backup and restore music library function.
- Skinnable interface - get your music management software skins here.
- Automatic monitoring and scanning for newly added music files.
- Audio analysis - similar to volume leveling, this advanced function aims to produce consistent sound volume for all music files.

- Useful mini how-to to get your started a.s.a.p using Music Jukebox.
What I really love about Music Jukebox is that it offers all of these functions that you expect from a proprietary music management software (music player, media library, file converter, volume leveling, tagging etc) for FREE! For lovers of portable music, the ability to sync songs from a computer with a portable device is probably the best feature they can get from this freeware. Download Media Jukebox and start organizing your music files today!

looks like a poor man’s MediaMonkey, which even the free version is excellent and beats MusicMatch hands down.
@Brandon: What makes (the free version of) MediaMonkey better than MusicMatch? I did not use either, so I’m wondering which one is worth downloading.
Es bueno saber que almenos alguen se preocupa por el buen funcionamiento de su pc ademas este es un buen softwere.
I loved MusicMatch before yahoo took it over. I especially liked the look up capability for albums. I have been looking for another program that would be comparable but to date have not found one. I may try this just because I am so desperate and I hate ITUNES!
