I’m farely new to all this so please bare with me… I’m looking at buying a usb external blu-ray burner. What would be the best & easiest FREE program I would download & where do I save the prgram to use it for the external usb burner?

What do people think is better: CDBurnerXP or ImgBurn? It seems like both can work with ISO images and also burn CDs and DVDs. Is one better than the other? Thanks.

I’ve heard about CDBurnerXP, but wasn’t sure if it supported Blu-ray discs yet or not? My buddy uses it all the time to burn ISO images of Windows operating systems he downloads.

I’ve never had much luck with portable CD and DVD burning software, between crashing and not detecting drives, so I was really pleased to read about the portable version of CDBurnerXP. I’ve been using the installable version on and off for a while, and it does almost everything that paid-for software does, often faster and with less fuss.

The only thing it can’t do is to convert video files into a standard video DVD, but I’ve discovered a workaround for this in the form of DVDStyler. It’s a free program which can convert several video formats to DVD compliant .vob files, create menus and also generate the folder structure. There’s even a portable version, available from http://sourceforge.net/projects/dvdstylerpe, but I’ve never tried using this.
