Macromedia Adobe Photoshop is the clear winner when it comes to photo editing applications, and for good reason. It is a very elaborate program that has nearly every photo editing feature that one could ask for.
However, Photoshop is not the most user friendly program, and it does have a learning curve to it. It will also set you back nearly $300 to buy from sites like Newegg and Amazon.com. It is listed on the Adobe website for a whopping $699 for the full version.
The fact is, most people do not need a program like Photoshop. Most people will never use half of the features that Photoshop has.
Looking for some Photoshop alternatives that won’t put such a large crater in your wallet? You should be able to find one that will work great for you in the list below. No need to get out your credit card at all. All of these are free.
Photobucket is probably the most popular online photo editor. It is also a photo hosting and image sharing platform. The Photobucket image editing software is top of the line, easy to use, and feature rich.
Flickr is another very popular image hosting/sharing website. Rather than incorporating a self branded editor, Flickr uses the popular photo editing software Picnik to let users edit their Photos. Picnik is an established photo editing software with a user friendly interface and plenty of options.
Luna Pic is a unique website in that it does not require you to have an account to use. All you have to do is navigate to the Luna Pic homepage, upload your photo, and start editing.
Foto Flexer is a very feature rich online photo editor. In fact, Foto Flexer’s tagline is “The World’s Most Advanced Online Image Editor”, a very strong claim. Foto Flexer is free but requires you to have an account. Give it a go.
Okay, Picasa isn’t an online photo editor… but it’s still completely free. If Picasso was still alive, who knows, he might use Picasa. If you’re a fan of using Google services, Picasa is the photo editor for you. Download here.
Paint.net is another photo editor that you have to download. However, it’s features are very impressive for a software that is completely free. User interface is similar to the classic Microsoft Paint that you have with Windows, beefed up. Many people consider Paint.net to be the best free Photoshop alternative.

Another background emulator similar to Fun Photo Box. Photo 505 is a website aimed specifically at providing scenarios for your photos.
Ever wondered what you would look like with a certain hair style? Hair Mixer creates mash ups of your photos with other photos and allows you to swap hair. Now, you can give your Dad the Don King look.
It’s not what it sounds like. Face in Hole is a website that allows you to “insert your face here” into several different people’s bodies.
Photovisi is an online collage maker. It does not have many photo editing features. But, it does one thing very well, create collages. Need to group your photos together, give Photovisi a try.
PiZap is an editor that allows you to insert “items” into your photos. Want to add some cool sunglasses to your cat? Put a gangster grille on a photo of your Grandma? PiZap can do all that and more.

Did you forget GIMP or choose not to put it for a reason. Gimp is a free open source image manipulation program (photo editor) that has many of the same features that photoshop has for a tiny percentage of the price ($0 = 0%)
Hi, I’m the developer of photofunny.net,I’d like to show it to you! You can make funny phot effects, put backgrounds to your photos, create animations online and free. Take a look!
Kylee mentioned GIMP here. The HUGE problem with GIMP is that it is far and away the LEAST user-friendly photo editing program on the market. It may be a very good program for a professional photographer who knows Photoshop, but it is impossible for someone who is a Photoshop Essentials level user.
