Is there an alternative to Sockso? I can’t seem to get it to work properly. I really want to setup my own personal music server, but it’s not working. What port does Sockso use?

I tried it and it’s great you can choose to stream music to your local network or to the world. It’s easy to set up and has a lot of options I did not expect from a free player.

Dear,

I’ve downloaded Sockso and am running this program. After I scanned for media files and added them to a playlist and saved it, nothing happened. How can I play media files? I add the stream IP-address into WMP but WMP can not connect… there is no stream…

My questions are:

1 Why can’t make Windows Media Player connect to Sockso with the IP-address?
2 How can I check if Sockso is streaming? I can’t find any Play button… How can I start streaming/playing the media files?

I hope somebody can help me.
