Enhance your Firefox toolbar with 95+ helpful buttons

If you’re a hardcore Firefox user, then you’ve probably already installed a bunch of Firefox add-ons to add extra functionality to the browser. Well there’s another one that you might want to check out. It’s called Toolbar Buttons and it basically adds 95+ useful buttons to the Customize Toolbar Window, which you can then add to your Firefox toolbar dragging and dropping them.

Toolbar Buttons is great because it combines a lot of useful features and functionality into one add-on. You can then pick and choose which buttons you want to put onto your toolbar. As your needs change, you can easily add and remove buttons.

Once you’ve installed the add-on, you need to go to View, then Toolbars, and then Customize.

You can now browse the 95+ buttons and simply drag and drop them to the Firefox toolbar. Since there are so many buttons, you’ll need to read through the reference in order to figure out what each button does.

If you don’t feel like having 95+ buttons added to your Toolbar Customize window, you can actually customize the Toolbar Buttons add-on! Go to the Button Maker and simply choose the buttons you want to include, choose the application you want it to be compatible with (Firefox, Sunbird, or Thunderbird) and click Make It! In this way, you can pick only the buttons you think you’ll ever use.

Here are a couple of my favorite buttons that make using Firefox a lot easier:

Clear Data

Open the clear private data window.

Full Screen

Toggle the window to full screen mode, so you can view as much of the current page as possible.

Reload Skip Cache

Reload page without using content stored in the browser cache to make sure you get any updates.

Snap Back

Go back to the very first page that was opened in the current tab.

Tiny Url

Create a tiny URL using Xrl.in and copy it to the URL bar

Undo Close Tab

Reopen the last closed tab. Really nice when a tab is closed my mistake, or you decided you did not really want to close it moments too late.

Overall, it’s a nice combination add-on that normally would require you to install several different add-ons. Definitely worth checking out if you’re not utilizing the space on your Firefox toolbar right now. Enjoy!
