Ares Tube is a free Windows program that lets you download your favorite videos from YouTube and other major video sharing sites, convert them into MPEG, AVI or MP4 format and automatically import them into iTunes so that you can watch the videos on your iPod. Ares Tube has an embedded browser that allows it to save video files from YouTube, Google video, Blip TV, Daily Motion, and MetaCafe to your local computer or iPod.
The cool thing about Ares Tube is that it’s very easy to use and you don’t even have to leave the program in order to find, view, and download the videos. Ares Tube has an in-built browser, so you can browse to any of the many sites listed on the main screen to find the videos you want.
Once you find a video you want to download, go ahead and click the “Add to Download List” green plus button to the right of the address bar.
Your video will then be added to the queue of videos to be downloaded in the bottom list. You can add as many clips as you want before clicking the Download button.
Before you click on Download, make sure to click on the Options button and choose the format that you want the videos converted to. You can choose from iPod, MPEG, or AVI. If you have iTunes installed, you can choose “Import converted files into iTunes” to have your videos automatically imported into iTunes.
A very small, easy to use, and convenient program to download and convert video files for offline viewing on your computer or iPod.
