Chat via AIM on your Apple iPhone using MobileChat

I don’t have an iPhone, but apparently a lot of people are complaining that the iPhone does not support iChat as a built-in capability and therefore is quite useless as an IM device. Well if you’re looking to chat with your friends and family on your iPhone with AOL Instant Messenger, you can download and install a free application from MobileChat.
The program is very light-weight and runs quite quickly on the EDGE network. Here are the program’s main features:
1. Supports all AIM accounts - Just type in your username and password and you’re ready to login!
2. Full Buddylist with stauts - View all of your buddies/groups and their current statues.
3. Easily change status - You can change your status to Away or Online.
4. Notifications - You can configure sound and popup notifications on your iPhone so that you will know when someone is responding to an IM, etc.
The new version of the software just released two days adds a host of new features as shown below:
1. Profile Viewing - You can now access a buddy’s AIM profile via the interface.
2. Vibration Support - Supports the native vibration mechanism of the iPhone in addition to sound and popup notifications.
3. Buddy List Sorting - Sort your buddy lists by name, etc.
4. Multiple Account Support - You can have more than one account setup on the iPhone and switch between them easily.
Nice little application for those AIM and iPhone users! Check it out!

Question.. is Mobile Chat for jailbroken phones? or does it not have to be jailbroken to use it?
