To open the backuped .nbu file, you can try to use Noki at http://www.nokisoft.com which is a Nokia PC Suite backup file explorer and extractor.

Thanks for the post. I just installed this for my 5310 but haven’t really taken the time to delve into the details.

One irritating thing that happened after I installed it was that it changed the file association for jar files to the PC Suite icon.
