WebMynd - DVR for your web surfing

Firefox has various tools that make it work superbly. Not only do you get the chance to surf the Internet with a user friendly web browser, but you can also customize it according to your personal preferences. Changing the look and feel of Firefox can be done quickly with add-ons. Within a few short seconds, you’ll have access to the necessary tools to make your web browser more functional.
If you’re constantly on the web, then you probably have tons of bookmarks (leanr how to quickly search your Firefox bookmarks). Surfing the Internet for a short period of time can definitely produce new bookmarks. With all of the interesting facts and websites available, you can’t help but add them to your own personal collection for later viewing.
However, there will come a time when you forget to bookmark a useful website. Trying to remember how you got to the website is almost impossible if you’ve encountered thousands within a day.
WebMynd is a new Firefox add-on that will automatically record your website visits. It’s almost like a DVR for the Internet. A virtual copy of these websites will be saved to your computer’s hard drive for fast retrieval. The saved websites are not only saved as an image, but also has the complete text from the website. This feature will make searching for a lost page much easier to locate.
The WebMynd add-on will sit at the bottom of your Firefox browser recording your web surfing. Although this can prove to be extremely helpful while doing web research, sometimes you may want to turn this feature off. Just simply click the add-on in the lower left corner of the browser window. Doing this will turn WebMynd off and on.
When you’re ready to view your recorded web history, click the green arrow button located next to the WebMynd add-on. It will open another tab with your recorded data. There are two options to view this data and make it easier to locate the web pages you’re looking for. The Reel tab allows you to move the red slider from left to right. As you move the slider the recorded website images will be displayed.
If you’d like to view more images on a page, then click the Grid tab to do so. Depending on how many recorded images you have saved, click the downward arrow to reveal more search results. For users that want a quicker search method, type the name of the web page in the search box. All web pages that have that name will be displayed for you to select.
Adding WebMynd to your current bookmarking methods will almost guarantee that you won’t lose an important web page. Using it as your own personal DVR for the web can also help to improve your productivity and organizational skills. Since the service is completely free at this time, consider giving it a try. You may be surprised with its results.
You can also read posts I had written about earlier like LaterLoop, another Firefox extension that helps you bookmark sites for later viewing or SpeedDial, a Firefox extension for managing your bookmarks and favorite websites. Enjoy!
