Thinking about going to Destin this weekend? Or maybe going to visit Paris and you found a good discount hotel, but you’re not sure what the rooms are going to be like? Now you can get some help in trying to pick a travel destination by using two web sites, LonelyPlanel.tv and Trivop.com. This is very cool because I’m sure everyone has visited some type of tour guide web site, such as TripAdvisor.com, etc, but this adds the extra dimension of video of people who have already been there.
So if you’re thinking about going to Rio De Janerio, you can look up videos of people who have been there and see with your own eyes what it’s like! Trivop.com is geared more towards hotels and it has mostly videos of hotels, but who hasn’t booked a room and been suprised by what they landed up in? Unforunately, Trivop currently only has hotel videos for France and England, so if you’re planning a trip there, then the site is useful. Trivop.com looks promising though in that very soon they will be adding the ability for users to upload videos also, which will increase the number of countries on their list!
You can browse through LonelyPlanet’s videos using their Channels feature. Channels include “Encounter” for videos of locals, “Bluelist” for recommendations, “Guerilla Guide” for the low-down, “Oh F#@*! Oh Wow” for the best and worst, “A Year of Parties,” and “Tripcasts” for anything else. You can also do a seach if you’re looking for a particular destination!
