Use Couchville.com to get local TV listings for your antenna, cable, or satellite connection

Want to know your local TV listing/guide or when your favorite shows will be playing without having to scroll through your TV’s clunky menu system? Well, Couchville.com will help you stay on your couch because it allows you to enter your zip code, pick your television source (Antenna, Cable, or Satellite) and then your provider (Cox, etc) after which you will get a Tivo like table of all the channels with the ability to search for your favorite program easily.

This site is seriously cool for those people who do not have Tivo or some other kind of DVR installed in our homes. Once you put in the info, you’ll get a listing of the current channel lineup on the right hand side:

Press Enter and you’ll be brought to the Guide page, which I have to say is very cool. Firstly, it’s interface reminds me of Google maps, if you want to scroll up, down, right or left, just click anywhere and drag your mouse pointer in the opposite direction! So no need for those annoying tiny little scroll bars on the bottom and right of the table, just select and drag! The next cool thing is the fact that you can simply click on any show in the table and the right hand side bar will bring up a listing of all of the upcoming airings of that show, even if they are all not playing on the same channel!

You can also which shows are the most popular TV show being recorded by the Beyond TV users. Click on Buzz to see the listing. Click on any show and you’ll get a listing of the upcoming airings in your selected channel lineup.

Another nice feature is that the guide colors movies in blue and sports in green, so if you’re just looking to watch some flick one night, it’ll be easy to find. If you get lost scrolling around and no longer know what day you’re looking at, just click on Jump to Current Time. I know I will definitely find this site very useful now that my Tivo is no longer working! Enjoy!
