Turn Your Facebook Profile Picture into a Video
Posted on August 13, 2010 at 5:15 am
Making your profile picture engaging and personal without looking lame is a challenge. Still images are limiting, and are left to interpretation by your Facebook audience. A video is much more powerful for making a statement. Thanks to Vanityvid, anyone can use a video as their Facebook or Twitter profile picture.
Uploading or making a video is very easy. Click the Facebook (or Twitter) link on the left of the page.
You will be asked for your Facebook login information, then asked to give Vanityvid permission to access your Facebook account. Click allow.
VanityVid then asks permission to use your computer’s video camera and microphone. Click Allow.
Click the red record button to record your video. When you have finished recording your message, click the record button again.
Your video will start playing immediately. When it has finished, click Save.
Vanityvid then loads the video as your Facebook profile picture. Besides recording a video on your computer, you may send a video from a mobile phone or upload a video straight to the site.
Vanityvid is uncomplicated—easy enough for even the least tech-savvy Facebook users. Just remember to keep the video short; your friends may not appreciate a long montage of your favorite Star Wars scenes.
