Track commerical flights like never before!

Technology is great!!! Now I can track any flight for my family members in real time! I had been looking around for a while for a site that can give me up to the minute data on flights, but either the interface was too clunky or the data just didn’t get updated quickly enough, so I abandoned the whole idea…UNTIL NOW!!! Check out these two sites:

I really like FlightAware becuase it has a clean simple interface and it gives you a lot of data on one screen (a map of where the plane is, the altitude, the duration of the flight, the amount of time left before the plane lands, the speed of the plane, etc. And all of this is updated every 60 seconds, so you don’t have to keep clicking the refresh button on the web page.
Now if you really want to get crazy, check out FlightExplorer. They basically have the same info, but they have an option to track the plane in 3D!!! Basically, it’s like a Google Earth interface where you can zoom in and out and see the city, houses, etc with the plane’s current position superimposed onto the map! It even has a line that comes down from the front of the plane to the ground so you can actually see the specific part of city it is flying over!
Why would you need this??? Who knows, but it sure is a lot of fun!!!
