Share only parts of YouTube videos using Splicd

Want to splice a YouTube video? Ever want to share a YouTube video with someone, but didn’t want them to have to see the whole thing? Maybe there’s one part at the very end that you want everyone to watch, perhaps in an interview or sports clip.
Right now to share a video on YouTube with someone else, you can post it to MySpace or Facebook, email it to someone, or even send them a link to the video. However, it’s always the ENTIRE video.
Using Splicd, you can choose a specific start time and end time for a video, i.e. 3:30 to 6:00, and watch only that portion! Just copy and paste the URL of the video and choose the timings for the portion you want to watch.
Click on the Continue button once you enter your timings and you’ll get a custom URL that you can then share with friends so that they only see the spliced part of the YouTube video.
You can also view the original video from the YouTube site by clicking View Original, or just watch the whole thing from Splicd by clicking Play All. Pressing Play Splice will only play the spliced portion of the video.
It’s a cool service, I just wish they had a way to embed the spliced video onto other sites. Right now you can only watch the video on Splicd.com and by sending a link to someone. It would be very cool to be able to embed that video into your blog, website, Facebook account, etc. Maybe those features will come in the future.
If you have an audio file you want to splice, you can read my post on editing and remixing music online. You can also edit video online using SmashMash or MotionBox, another free online video editing site. Enjoy!
