Share Copied Text Between Computers the Easy Way
Posted on January 25, 2012 at 8:10 am
We love our mobile devices, be they phones or tablets. We surf the web, check our email and even work on them once in a while. As great as these devices are, they are not yet full computer replacements. When we need to copy text from a device, then share it with a computer, we normally result to email, which adds its own formatting and can be slow.
Another way to share copied text between computers and devices is with an Internet clipboard, like Cl1p.
Cl1p is brilliantly simple to use. First, choose a name for your clipboard page. Be sure to choose something short and simple that you will easily remember. Click Go when finished.
Your page opens. The page is just a giant text box, with no formatting or other constraints. Paste your copied text in the box where it says Paste any text you want here.
Click Save and then Publish. This makes the text live on your Internet Clipboard page.
Now you can access the text from any browser on any mobile device or computer by going to your Internet clipboard URL. To use Cl1p effectively, create shortcuts on your computer’s and mobile device’s desktop screens leading to your Internet clipboard URL. This gives you seamless access to pasted text that you can then use however you wish.
Cl1p has very few features right now. Its interface is sparse, which makes it simple to use, but does not allow for times when you do want to keep text formatting. The homepage says that more features are coming soon. We hope the option to keep text formatting is one of the first added. This tool has great potential if just a few extra bells and whistles were added.
