Send photo from Picasa or Flickr to any Wi-Fi digital photo frame

Do you have a WiFi digital photo frame at home? Does someone in your family have one? Do you also have a ton of photos stored online in Flickr, Picasa, Facebook, etc? Wouldn’t it be cool if there was a service whereby you could display those pictures on ANY WiFi enabled digital photo frame around the world without having to download those pictures?
You Got Photo is a crazy new service that is trying to do exactly that! It’s pretty amazing what the service actually does. Basically, if your parents live in London, you can share photos from your Picasa account and have them display on their Wi-Fi digital photo frame from the United States! Sound crazy!?
It’s a web service that enables you to share your online photos by having them sent to Photo Catcher, screensaver, desktop, or a Photo Catcher widget.
Basically, there are three aspects to getting a service like this to work: a WiFi digital photo frame, a photo source, and the photo manager software. Firstly, you create an account and add your frame to the service by giving it a name and typing in the serial number, which is unique amongst all digital photo frames.
Next you pick your photo source, which can be most of the online photo sharing sites like Flickr, Picasa, etc, but can also be any image on the web. Using the Photo Manger, you can add pictures from your dekstop or from any website by simply copying the URL of the image and pasting it into the photo manager.
You can even do a Google, Yahoo or Windows Live image search and simply drag and drop the images that you want to display on your digital photo frame or on your photo catcher widget (which can be basically put on any website, blog, etc).
Now that you have added digital photo frames and image sources, you can decide which images will be shown on which photo frames by linking them.
The last step is to share the frame with others. You basically download the frame, install it on your PC and send it to everyone else. Now whenever you add more photos to the frame via YouGotPhoto, everyone will be able to see the new photos instantly.
I could not try the service out myself because I don’t have a WiFi digital photo frame, but if you do, definitely give it a shot! The instructions are not super clear as of yet on how to set everything up, but I’m guessing because it is so new. However, it did win the DEMO God Award, which is a pretty big deal.
If you want to get an idea on how YouGotPhoto works even if you don’t have a WiFi photo frame, go ahead and create a frame and choose Computer Desktop Frame.
Now give it a name and click OK. Now click on Photo Manger next to the new frame:

Now click on the service where you would like to pull the photos from, i.e. Picasa, etc. Type in your ID and drag the photos on to the little face at the bottom which represents your “frame”.
Click OK when you are done and then go back to My Frames and click on Download Frame. You’ll have to install an app called Air Frame and enter your YouGotPhoto ID and password. Now you’ll see your frame at the bottom, which you can click on to view the photos in a slideshow.
Now go back into your account and add more photos and delete some that were previously there. When you go back to the frame in the Air Frame application, the photos will be updated! This is the crux of the program. You can send the frame to everyone you know and when they open the application, they will see the current photos that you are sharing in that frame, just like you are.
Same thing applies to Wi-Fi digital photo frames. You update the photo set online and the photos being displayed on the frame will be automatically updated. Pretty cool eh!? Enjoy!
