Save money on airline tickets and travel fares using Yapta

Did you know that if you purchase an airline ticket and the price drops for that ticket, you can request a refund from the airline directly for the difference? Most people don’t worry about airline refunds because it’s practically impossible for anyone to know if the price drops on a ticket since it fluctuates so constantly. Actually, the price for an average ticket fluctuates by almost 400%!
However, what it there was an automated computer system that could track the price of an airline ticket before AND after you purchased it to make sure it’s the cheapest possible fare? If the price drops, you can an email alert to buy at the low price.
Yapta is a free online web service that helps people find the cheapest airline tickets and also helps you get refunds for tickets prices that dropped after you purchased them.
There are two ways you can use Yapta: you can either install a Firefox add-on that will allow you to compare shop simultaneously at all of your favorite airline websites and also will allow you to tag any flight you want to track and Yapta will alert you when prices drop or you can simply log into your Yapta account and type in the flight information, such as airline, ticket price, etc.
Remember though that you can only get refunds for tickets that you buy online, not ticket bought over the phone, etc. Most people assume that the price for an airline ticket gets more expensive as you get closer to the date you want to fly and in general that how it works, but have you ever been planning a trip and noticed how much the price fluctuates even in one day if you look multiple times?
So before buying an airline ticket again or even if you have already purchased one but have not flown, make sure to create a free account with Yapta and track all of your flights for any price drops. According to the site, they save the average Yapta user over $200 in a year! That’s actually not too bad!
