Read your favorite books on your mobile phone for free

Recently, I was asked by someone if there was a way to read book on their mobile phone for free and decided to post what I found. With more people having Internet-enabled web phone and cell phones, it’s good to know a couple of web sites that can keep you busy if you’re bored. A web site where you can download hundreds of books for free on your mobile is definitely one of those.
BookInMyPhone has a bunch of books that are out of copyright in the USA and many other countries also, including Australia, Canada, and the UK. Most of the books you’ll see on this site are classics, such as 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and A Christmas Carol.
If you’re looking for recent books, etc, you’ll have to check out some other sites that will change a certain fee per book or per month, such as MobileBooks and eReader. eReader has over 17,000+ titles that you can download and view onto your mobile device with lots of categories and more modern books.
Using BooksInMyPhone, you can search for books by author, title, "All time classics", or by category. The nice thing about the site is that when you download the book, it comes with an integrated book reader application also.
You can also customize the books, such as changing the font size smaller or larger. There is something called night vision mode also for reading in dim-light areas, but I’m not sure how well that works.
You can quickly navigate books by chapter and you can "pause" and "resume" books to accommodate incoming calls. Also, there is an auto-bookmark feature so that you do not have to constantly bookmark the last page you read.
Overall, the program is pretty cool! They have obviously thought about how a normal person reads a books and incorporated those features into the software.
