PassPack - Free online password manager software

Can you count how many passwords you have? Managing the literally hundreds of passwords that one must remember can be a royal pain! It’s even worse when you need to access something, but can’t remember the password! Unless you use the same password for everything, and that’s a terrible idea for security reasons, it’s really becoming hard to manage passwords in your head, on pieces of paper, or in unsecured text documents!
Thankfully, someone has come up with the idea of online password managers! Sounds like a bad idea since your password is not with you, but instead on a server somewhere on the Internet, but it really is secure and safe.
PassPack is probably the most well-known and most renowned online password manager around. Here’s a couple of it’s major features that I like the most:
- Save logins & passwords and automatically have your credentials passed to websites securely, no need for typing
- Generate strong passwords using PassPack and quickly find passwords in an ordered list, by tags, or by performing a quick search.
- Bulk import passwords and logins from a CSV file and easy export of passwords and logins for safe local copies.
- Disposable logins for your PassPack account if you are planning to travel and access your account from public computers. Logins will expire after a certain amount of time or certain number of logins.
- Ability to work offline and access all of your logins and passwords when you are not connected to the Internet.
- Custom Anti-Phishing welcome message that is customized and ip filtered so that you know you’re not on a spoofed site or fake version of PassPack.
Of course all of the data that is passed by PassPack between it’s servers and your computer or it’s server and the site you want to log into is encrypted using Government approved 256-bit AES encryption! That’s nearly impossible to break.
Once you create an account, you can add up to 100 entries into the system for free. That’s probably more than enough for most people. Remember, you can also use PassPack to store other types of information such as bank account passwords, computer passwords, etc, not just web site passwords.
Other ideas for storing into PassPack include the following:
- Insurance policy numbers
- Credit Card 1-800 hotlines
- Passport number & expiration
- Doctor’s contact info
- School pick-up code word
- Names of prescriptions
- Frequent flyer numbers
- Copies of e-Ticket info
- Hotel address & phone
- Travel agent’s contacts
- Confirmation numbers
- Consulate address & phone
Overall, PassPack is a great way to store just about any type of password, login, or sensitive information that you want protected, yet accessible from anywhere in the world. Enjoy!

Till now i used Keepass but an online service seems a much better option.
Yeah it’s very cool and very secure, so you don’t have to worry about losing data or being exposed. Well, I guess you ALWAYS have to worry about that, but they take some pretty serious measure to protect the online passwords.
