MotionBox - Edit videos online, share videos, upload and store videos

Now that most digital cameras can also take fairly high quality video also, there are tons and tons of videos out there that people would love it edit and share with others. Sharing pictures is quite easy, but editing and sharing video is still quite a complicated task.

First you need video editing software to clip out scenes that are boring or to add titles to your video, then you need to figure out how to upload the huge video file to some server so that it can be shared. Usually, people post their videos onto Google Video or YouTube and then share out that link.

motionbox

MotionBox is a cool web service that allows you to upload your videos to a secure online storage site, quickly edit, crop or mix your movies online, share your videos with friends and family via email or embed them into blogs, web sites, or forums, and lets you back them up online or download them to your computer, iPod, or favorite media player.

So are you wondering if you really need a service like this? Think of MotionBox as the Picasa for videos! If you enjoy using Picasa to share your pictures with everyone online, then you’ll like MotionBox for your videos.

Putting videos onto MotionBox is a breeze with their fast video uploader, which requires no software install. Just click Upload and find the video on your computer to get started.

It also includes an advanced media player so you can watch your videos in a unique filmstrip fashion, which allows you to see what’s coming up next in the video and click on any frame to watch from that point.

MotionBox also has some special features that make it more than just an online video editing tool. The Highlight feature allows you to select any portion of a video by clicking and dragging your mouse over the filmstrip and sharing just that highlighted section with others. No need to even cut and create a new video, just highlight and send! Done!

That would actually be a very cool feature if Picasa supported that. Basically have a private album and then simply select a few photos from that album that you want to share!

MotionBox has two types of accounts, a free and a premium, kind of like Picasa Web Albums extra storage. For free, you can upload videos up to 100 MB per video with a max of 300 MB of storage and you can share and edit as much as you want. For only $30 a year, you can upload an unlimited number of videos of ANY size! Now that’s a pretty good deal for me at least!

My Sony digital camera takes some great videos, but I usually end up posting them on Picasa without any editing, etc and it only lets me upload videos less than 100 MB anyway. Using MotionBox for $30, you can edit videos online quickly and share the masterpieces with everyone!

Also, it’s great as a backup in case your computer crashes and you lose all those great videos. Plus, you can download your videos to your favorite media player and watch or show them to others from there. Worth checking out! Enjoy!

This website sounds great but I don’t think it quite meets my needs. I wondered if you can point me to any website, company or software that would meet the following requirements.
    - allows people from multiple computers to upload video to share online
    - is completely secure and does not sign over ownership of the video to the hosting company
    - is easy to use

I am a business owner (just me) interested in providing training to people working with children with disabilities via the internet. I want to be able to view their videos with them on line and give them feedback on their performance as I watch the videos. They need to be able to upload the videos themselves, quickly and easily. No one other than those given password access must be able to view the videos. It will need to be possible to remove the videos from the website easily too as they will only need to be up there long enough to view during an online meeting. Ideally, I would be paying for the service and those uploading the videos would not be able to view my payment information nor have any administrative rights other than to upload and remove their own videos.

Any ideas? Thanks so much for your help
